Lakeside View is a specialist Personality Disorder transitional unit for females aged 18-25 years. It has a locked environment which provides a therapeutic setting designed to provide a DBT based, recovery focused programme for those with complex needs. 

Our Chef role involves:

  • To assist in the daily production of high quality meals supporting the Director Of Clinical Services in all duties.
  • Contribute to planning a menu, taking into account special nutritional, dietary and ethnic needs.
  • Maintain a high level of hygiene in the preparation and production of food without supervision, and in accordance with current H.A.C.C.P. regulations and the Food Safety Act, 1995.Contributing to the quality and effectiveness of the psychological assessment (e.g. Risk Assessments – HCR-20) of individuals and providing written reports under the supervision of a Forensic Psychologist.
  • Ensure a safe environment by reporting all accidents, untoward occurrences and potential risks/hazards to the Director Of Clinical Services.
  • Ensure economic use of consumable stores by: efficient usage, recording of information, reporting shortages/wastages to the Director Of Clinical Services.
  • Protect and treat with respect all equipment and facilities belonging to PiC.  Report any faults.
  • Ensure that you are aware of your responsibilities and where you have difficulties, report these to the Director Of Clinical Services.
  •  Promote high standards within the catering environment and respond positively to patient/visitor complaints and satisfaction survey.

To be successful as a Chef, you’ll need:

  • Qualifications
  • The role holder will be numerate, literate and qualified to NVQ3/C&G standard with an advanced food catering certificate
  • Skills/Knowledge

Essential

  • Experience preparing and producing quality food to a high standard.
  • Knowledge of menu planning and costing.
  • Some supervising experience.
