Priory Education and Children’s Services is a leading company in the UK offering independent behavioural care for commissioners across the UK. With over 100 high quality schools, colleges and homes we focus on making a real and lasting difference for everyone we support.

St. Martin’s Road is a stand-alone Registered Children’s Home located in Bristol that runs for 52 weeks of the year.  It is a service that specialises in working with young people who have a diagnosis of Autistic Spectrum Conditions and are likely to have a range of other complex needs including challenging behaviour.

The young people may well enter the home at a point of crisis in their lives.  As a result they are likely to display high levels of behaviours that challenge. 

At St. Martin’s Road we are looking for individuals who are passionate about working with people with emotional, social and behavioural difficulties including those with a diagnosis of Autistic Spectrum Conditions.  This is to ensure the highest quality of staff support.

Roles within the Education and Care job family are dedicated to ensuring the young people are safe, healthy and able to make a positive contribution and realise their full potential through enjoyment, achievement and economic well being.

Duties include:

•           Contributing to the effective implementation of individual programmes by supporting the learning, social and independence activities and experiences;

•           Contributing to the daily running of the home;

•           Supporting the young people with all their needs whilst encouraging independence;

•           Working effectively as part of a team;

•           Managing and supporting the young people’s well-being and behaviour, ensuring any significant behavioural or physical occurrences are promptly addressed and reported, referring to a senior member of staff as appropriate.

In return, Continual Professional Development will be encouraged for all staff including a focus on autism specific training and opportunities.

It is essential that applicants have either attained or are prepared to work towards Level 3 Children & Young People’s Workforce Diploma qualification.

To enable us to comply with the requirements laid down in the Care Standards Act 2000, we are unable to offer employment to anyone under the age of 21 years.
