Kneesworth House offers purpose built services with medium secure, low secure, and both locked and open rehabilitation opportunities.

The wide range of care settings maximises the opportunity for patients to have step down pathways and move easily between care settings to whatever level of security is most appropriate for their care. In addition to ward-based living and activity areas there is patient engagement opportunity in varied occupational therapy facilities. Patients here report high levels of satisfaction. Four residential houses afford a clear step down pathway for patients.

Our Housekeeping Assistant role involves:

  • Maintaining a high standard of housekeeping and hygiene throughout all areas of Kneesworth House Hospital all wards and non-ward areas.
  • Ensuring that all cleaning tasks are achieved around needs of the hospital staff in their area of work and the patients who reside within the hospital.
  • Providing a reliable and efficient housekeeping service.
  • Cleaning designated areas to the highest possible standards.
  • Disinfecting and sanitising all relevant areas.
  • Cleaning all fixtures and fittings.
  • Maintaining all hard polished and carpeted floors and to use the equipment provided to maintain these in good condition and stain free.
  • Cleaning all furniture and shampoo when necessary with equipment provided.
  • Ensuring that all equipment and cleaning materials are used in accordance with the Manufacturer’s instructions and stored correctly after each use.
  • Using all cleaning materials in a cost effective manner and according to the correct dosage.
  • Taking notes of any defects to furniture or equipment and report to Supervisor

To be successful Housekeeping Assistant you’ll need:

  • Work in such a manner as to ensure a positive and co-operative relationship with all colleagues, patients, residents and visitors
  • Abide by the legal requirements of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, particularly in respect to assuming responsibility not only for your own Health and Safety and Welfare but for that of all others including residents, colleagues, visitors / members of the public and to cooperate with PiC Learning Disability Services to create a safe, healthy and pleasant working environment
  • Undertake statutory, refresher and development training as required
  • Set a professional example of work methods, personal presentation, time keeping and flexibility.
