Ty Catrin is a low secure mental illness and personality disorder service for men and women who require a medium-term placement and recovery-orientated specialist treatment in order to progress on their care pathway towards rehabilitation care.
The facility is split into six wards along with semi-independent flats onsite
Role and Context
Purpose
- To support and assist registered nurses in the delivery of quality care.
- To promote independence and encourage patient involvement in their care through effective communication and engagement.

The business has four types of customer; patients, staff, purchasers and external agencies.
Patients may suffer from mental illness, personality disorder and/or learning disabilities. Patients at the Unit are detained under the Mental Health Act. Referrals are taken from many sources including psychiatric hospitals, prisons and the courts.
The workforce of the organisation is multidisciplinary; a significant proportion of those are employed within the clinical disciplines, in addition other departments provide support services.
As a Health Care Worker you will be working within a team, which includes a range of professionals. You will make an effective contribution to providing high quality care within a medium secure / low secure and locked, specialised mental health rehabilitation and recovery setting.
The patient group consists of personality disordered learning disability individuals and those experiencing enduring mental illness.
You will work within an identified career development pathway and be expected to complete appropriate competency development portfolios.
