Description :

A leisure business based near Worthing is need of a Service Technician to provide maintenance and repair to the Company’s site and its’ leisure equipment. The Service Technician will have ideally worked in a servicing role previously. The Service Technician will have a background in mechanical engineering; however a background in mobile plant products, agricultural, and/or vehicle mechanics would be suitable for this role. Due to the nature of this role, the Service Technician should be willing to work bank holidays and a weekend day during the summer season, with time off in lieu.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose errors or technical problems and determine proper solutions.
  • Ensure that the company operate day to day within the requirements for company’s equipment and other mandatory health and safety legislation.
  • Ensure that machines are operated to maximum potential by full and correct checks, maintenance and repairs both to schedules and as faults occur.
  • Ensure that maintenance and repairs are correctly and properly recorded.
  • To promote the correct Company image by ensuring that you, together with the venue, are presented to a high standard.
  • Be a decision maker within the parks maintenance and inspection environment utilising colleagues or management for any questions.
  • Cover any duties in your control in the event of staff absences or emergencies. To carry out duties at the request of the Directors this may entail working outside your department.
  • Liaise with office staff or suppliers to ensure that sufficient spares are in stock or ordered to help to eliminate machine downtime.
  • React to an emergency. Co-ordinating response of staff and liaising with emergency services if required.
  • To assist and advise the maintenance team and directors with safety related procedures and practices including the monitoring or recording of these practices for the equipment. This will include working with independent inspection bodies for a variety of equipment inspections.
  • Provide support to junior members of the company and maintenance team. In addition, instruct junior staff on safe operation of equipment.

Qualifications required:

Essential –

  • Hold a full drivers’ licence.

Desirable –

  • A time served apprenticeship NVQ Level 3 in mechanical engineering or in a relevant subject.

Salary:  £23,000 - £25,000 (dependent on experience)
