Set back within landscaped gardens, the tranquil environment of the Woodbourne Priory Hospital offers calming and recovery focused residential treatment for 40 service users, including separate facilities for up to 21 young people.
Specialising in the management and treatment of mental health problems including addiction, the hospital have established an excellent reputation for providing the highest standards of care.
Our highly experienced team of mental health professionals and support staff, which include consultant psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses and therapists, deliver personalised treatment programmes and a range of therapies.
The role
We are now seeking to recruit two speciality doctors to provide the equivalent of 1.4 doctors to work alongside the existing full-time consultants. There is no on call component to the post.
These posts are to work on Maple ward which is to become a 22 bed ward in January (currently it has 16 beds), and it is part of Forward Thinking Birmingham services. Service users are between 18-25 and all from Birmingham.

To join us, you must hold an MBBS qualification or equivalent and will be required to maintain full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC). Ideally candidates will have experience of working in inpatient settings of people with significant mental health difficulties. The post holder will work closely with our Consultant Psychiatrists and our large multi-disciplinary team and be committed to providing quality patient focussed care, comprehensive risk assessment and mental state examinations and competant physical health examinations and management. The post requires a good team player who must be keen to participate in a multidisciplinary approach to assessment, formulation and management plans.
