Description :

A global, leading service provider to the pre-press and digital-wide format inkjet printing industry requires a Field Service Engineer to join their team and grow with the company as it continues to deliver outstanding service and workmanship to clients throughout the UK and worldwide. The Field Service Engineer will work on some of the printing industry`s latest large format digital printing equipment. Whilst knowledge and experience as a computer or electronics engineer is desirable, heavy bias exists toward a qualification and experience in electro mechanical engineering for this role.

Responsibilities:

  • Carry out fault finding, repairs and installations on large format digital printing equipment
  • Deliver excellent customer service
  • To be home-based and located in Essex due to a need to be within easy travelling distance to clients in Essex, Kent and North London
  • Be required to visit clients occasionally throughout the UK
  • Visit clients and attend training sessions in Europe, the Middle East and Africa 3-4 times per year

Essential:

  • A basic understanding and experience in Computer/Electronic Engineering
  • A strong background in Electro/Mechanical Engineering with relevant City and Guilds/ ONC / HNC qualifications
  • Good attention to detail and a proven track record of delivering a high standard of work
  • Being driven, enthusiastic and be able to work to deadlines
  • A can-do and hands on approach
  • Ability to think on your feet and resolve issues quickly and efficiently
  • Being well-presented and an effective communicator (as you will be representing the company)
  • Willing to work unsociable hours and flexible with your working day
  • You must hold a full and valid UK driving licence

Desirable:

  • Background in manufacturing maintenance
  • Experience in the pre-press and digital wide format inkjet printing industry

Salary / hours: Basic salary is £28,000 - £30,000. Minimum hours worked weekly is 35; however, on average, engineers work 45 hours per week with overtime, accounted and paid for when commuting to and from client sites. When required to stay away overnight expenses for, flights, food, hotels will be provided. Weekend overtime is paid at time and 2/3rds. Majority of engineers earn between £35,000 - £40,000 per annum working an average of 45 hours per week.

You will be required to work at least one weekend per month and on standby (paid) on certain weekends. Standby and weekend work is flexible and can be organised between engineers to fit around social lives.
