Meadow View is a low secure unit for men with mental illness and personality disorder. Located in Gainsborough in Lincolnshire, Meadow View has 28 beds to support those who are detained under the Mental Health Act.
Our service consists of two wards:
Cedar - 14 bedded ward for men who require stabilisation and support to decrease their levels of challenging behaviour
Ash - 14 bedded ward providing continuing care with a focus on rehabilitation and community reintegration and preparing the person to move further along the care pathway or to community living
Our Secretary role involves:
- To act as a point of contact for internal and external telephone calls.
- Present a co-operative and helpful image.
- Provide secretarial and administrative support to the RC`s and MDT (and the unit if required) including confidential medical reports and other documentation.
- Provide and maintain an efficient diary management system for the RC`s as required.
- Ensure that relevant information is up to date on CAREnotes.
- To assist in the preparation and coordination of documentation to comply with the Mental Health Act.
- Collation of information as required.
- Creation of presentations as required.
- Organisation and management of meetings and accurately record and produce minutes of meetings.
- To prepare documentation for CPA meetings to meet the required standards.
- Communication of all information to all appropriate parties.
- Establish and maintain a high standard of office practices and procedures including filing systems.
- Maintain any records as may from time to time be specified to support tasks being carried out or to allow monitoring of tasks.
- To maintain as confidential at all times information relating to patients, staff and hospital business.
- Attend staff meetings and internal /external training events as and when required.
- To supervise the Secretary II`s if required.
- Undertake any other tasks requested that are commensurate with the post`s level of responsibility.
- To provide cover for colleagues during periods of absence.

To be successful as a Secretary, you`ll need:
- Secretarial qualification or experience essential
- RSA II, Typing/Word Processing or equivalent
- 4 GCSE at Grade C or above (including English and Mathematics) or equivalent

Experience
- Minimum 2 years secretarial and administrative experience ideally gained within a high profile commercial environment.
