Ellingham Hospital is an independent hospital near Norwich, which provides assessment, treatment and rehabilitation for young people aged between 12 and 18 years, who present with a wide range of complex psychiatric, emotional and behavioural difficulties. We also recently opened a 10 bedded acute mental health ward for adults.

There is an ofsted registered school on site supporting the young people with their educational needs. The hospital has been rated \"Good\" by the CQC following their inspection in January 2017.

The hospital is approximately one mile from the town of Attleborough and close access to the A11.

Our Associate Specialist Psychiatrist role involves:

  • Being part of a successful multi-disciplinary team
  • Managing specialist mental health, behavioural and psychological needs of patients suffering learning disabilities and provide input into rehabilitation
  • Attending team meetings
  • Assessing and treating new referrals
  • Being involved with CPA, review meetings and Mental Health Review Tribunals
  • Being available for crisis and on-call work
  • Responding to the need for psychiatric input
  • Dealing with some physical problems within your sphere of expertise that are drawn to your attention
  • Taking part in clinical and interdisciplinary activities within the service
  • Keeping up to date with current practices (journals, meetings and conferences)
  • Being familiar with and complying with the policies and procedures laid down in the policy manual
  • Interfacing externally to develop and manage person-centred pathways with other commissioning and provider services
  • Being part of an out of hours on call rota
  • Participating in appraisal and revalidation in line with PiC policy
