An exciting innovation project has led to a new service being opened in July 2015, this a 4 bedded step down CAMHS service within a Children`s home setting as part of an integrated, personalised and holistic programme of health, care and education for children aged between 11 and 18.

The project provides a single pathway, integrated provision of specialist mental health and social care for young people, up to the age of 18, to provide a nurturing and high quality residential service within the community, thus avoiding the trauma of admission to mental inpatient services.

An exciting job opportunity has arisen for a Nurse to join the service. The service is looking for a qualified, professional and committed nurse to work with children who have ongoing mental health difficulties.

You will work in close collaboration with the therapies team, teachers, families and carers to manage associated behaviour issues linked to mental health, autism and learning disabilities for the children and young people at Belhaven House.

Our aim is to provide a high quality, holistic, needs led service focusing on the behavioural and developmental needs of children and young people with mental ill health within an education and care home setting.

You will be a qualified Staff Nurse / Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) seeking a permanent opportunity in a new service.

You will form an integral part of the multi-disciplinary therapies team at Belhaven House working alongside colleagues within the Craegmoor and Healthcare divisions of Priory Group to best support the ongoing needs and aspirations of our young people through their journey.

As Staff Nurse (RMN) you will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring optimum care is maintained by managing young person`s education and mental health care plans and risk assessments
  • Providing a highest standard of quality care
  • Promoting and maintaining high standards of clinical practice and innovative cross divisional support and pathway guidance
  • Responsible for the assessment of nursing/care/support needs of service users
  • Development and implementation of care programmes
  • Take the lead on shifts and effectively supervise support staff

As Staff Nurse (RMN) you will be:

  • A Registered Nurse (RMN qualified)
  • Registered with the NMC with a legal right to work in the UK
  • Able to use your skills to develop care plans and risk assessments
  • Able to use your skills of inclusion and community based engagement and support
  • Working towards or gained a post-graduate certificate in Autism
