Diagnosis of the Electrical, Control and Instrumentation (EC&I) system errors and breakdowns. Maintenance and calibration of current process control instrumentation, electrical and controls systems, including data logging. Minor projects, including installation and commissioning of new equipment and systems.
Applications from suitably qualified ex-military personnel (Royal Air Force, Royal Navy, British Army, Royal Marines) are especially relevant for this position.
Major Accountabilities:
Breakdown diagnosis, fault finding, repair, calibration and maintenance of site electrical and instrumentation systems
Identify current and potential issues, including compliance
PLC I/O and fault finding (including Foxboro)
Control panel modification and maintenance
Conventional and ProfiBus instrumentation applications
Flow valves, level and temperature probes, sensors and actuators
Emergency safety systems
To manage an effective “critical trip” testing program
Support the existing IA system under the supervision of the site Control Engineer.
Support the EC&I Manager in creating and maintaining effective EC&I maintenance systems to meet regulatory requirements and business needs.
Write internal procedures
Implement a record of work tasks and related costs
Accountable to take all necessary actions to ensure compliance with statutory requirements, legislated regulations, policies, work standards, and governance requirements in area of accountability.
Relevant Qualifications/Requirements
Minimum C&G/BTech/ONC
Preferred HNC/BSc
Other knowledge, skills, abilities and behaviours needed to perform this position:
Completed relevant engineering apprenticeship, Electrical qualification, BS7671 competent, Electricity at Work Regulations. Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) experience. Multi-skilled.
