Vancouver House, a purpose-built rehabilitation service and care home with nursing across four units, supporting men and women with varying degrees of a learning disability or an acquired brain injury.
Rehabilitation and neuro-rehabilitation are be designed for each person in our according to need and aspiration. Individualised activity programmes may include physiotherapy, neuro-psychology, speech and language therapy and occupational therapy.
Programmes are supervised and assessed by the occupational therapy department or other designated professionals.
Programmes incorporate all aspects of daily life, rehabilitation and including social and leisure pursuits, supported employment, lifelong learning and independent living skills. Leisure time is important to each resident’s quality of life and to maintain relationships with existing friends, family and carers as part of an ongoing support network.
Residents participate in community activities in the nearby town centre and amenities and for those who are unable to do so there are also a wide range of on-site social activities.
As a Nurse here at Vancouver House you will assist and support the assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of individuals who have an acquired brain injury, both within the unit and on community trips. Working with the MDT, you will undertake thorough risk assessment and care planning to provide holistic care to the residents within our service.

The nurse required for this role must be competent in tracheostomy care.
You will need to be a Registered Nurse with common sense and a real commitment to caring and be able and willing to identify any areas where you may need to undertake extra training. You must hold current valid NMC PIN number.
