Llanarth Court Hospital is a 114 bedded forensic hospital providing a secure environment consisting of medium, low and open rehabilitation settings for men and women with mental illness and or personality disorder.
Practice Development Nurse:
You need to be a qualified nurse with a minimum of 4 years post registration experience and a proven track record of involvement in staff development
You will actively promote the implementation of evidence-based practice and up to date mental health nursing developments. You will support newly qualified nurses through their preceptorship programme and and actively promote staff development, for example supporting nurses through their competency development programme. Liaise with local universities to support the placement of nursing students by acting as the practice facilitator. During the student`s placement you will provide regular supervision and support and be responsible for maintaining the mentor register and documentation required by the NMC and those identified as needed via the university educational audits. You will need to participate in on-going education programmes and identify training needs relevant to mental health and forensic nursing. You will act as the lead for promoting and monitoring clinical supervision for nursing staff and participate in conducting clinical audits when required.
