Description :

A company with a lengthy and impressive history of providing solutions for the surgical, ophthalmic and aesthetic markets is in need of a Field Service Laser Engineer. The company is world-renowned in developing and commercialising innovative energy-based technologies, including Laser, Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) and Radio-Frequency (RF) systems.

For years, their ground-breaking products have redefined medical treatments and have set numerous technological and clinical gold-standards.  They have also successfully created solutions for previously untreatable conditions, as well as designed advanced technologies that have revolutionized existing treatment methods in each and every one of the verticals we operate in.


The company requires a multi-disciplined electronics engineer to be based in the area of its head office.

TRAINING & EXPERTISE

Whilst training in the company’s intense pulse light and medical laser products will be provided, it is essential the successful candidate possesses a qualification in an electronics discipline. I will consider:

  • ONC/HNC
  • BTEC 3 or higher
  • Military service accreditation
  • University degree

JOB DESCRIPTION

This is a new position we are developing that will encompass a variety of tasks within the company:

  1. Supporting the Service Manager - The successful candidate will assist him in these duties:
    1. In-house repairs
    2. Logistics
    3. Sales support
  1. Field service duties
    1. Fault investigation and rectification;
    2. Carrying out optical alignment;
    3. Providing planned maintenance servicing
    4. Ensuring regular communication with our customers;
    5. Carrying out system modifications;
    6. Overseeing software upgrades;
  1. Sales support.
    1. Pre-delivery checks of our medical systems
    2. Control of our demonstration systems
    3. Trade show support

This, at times, demanding job requires flexibility; there may be some overnight stops required and the opportunity to travel overseas supporting distributors.

HOURS

Average of 37.5 hours weekly, however largely determined by the candidate once training is complete and workloads.

SALARY/PACKAGE

The package comprises a starting salary of £30K, bonus plan, high quality company van, private health insurance, contributory pension mobile phone and laptop. The post offers 20 days annual holiday, rising to 25 days after one year’s service.
