The role:
- To carry out Housekeeping Operations in line with PiC West Midlands Service`s Procedures
- To provide support and demonstrate leadership qualities to housekeeping staff at an operational level
- To use all chemical and machinery in line with Departmental Procedures, Health and Safety Regulations and Manufacturers Instructions.
- To be Pro-Active in helping to further improve our service delivery through liaison with the Hospital Director
- To Promote and maintain professional relationships within the department and with customers
- To act as a mentor to newly appointed staff and train them in their duties.
- To be supportive as a team member, helping to provide and resource a continued service during staff shortages
- To further improve relations particularly addressing good staff morale and staff retention
- Assist in reviewing industry improvements and research
- To effectively manage stock levels and replenish janitorial products. Also ensure good storage procedures and stock rotation is maintained.
- To develop Team Leadership skills
- To operate a documented Housekeeping programme which is auditable.
- To assist Hospital Director in the preparation of work rosters, incorporating leave requirements.
- To perform any other reasonable duties as required and requested by your head of department
Personnel
- To ensure that all Housekeeping tasks are achieved around the needs of the patients
- To adhere to patients guidelines and programmes
- To include a structured hard and soft flooring upholstery and soft furnishings service delivery arranged and agreed with the head of hotel services
- All rooms and corridors under our responsibility must be cleaned, tided and left ready for use Cross-ref: Health and Safety Training, Risk Assessments, COSHH Training, Safe Systems of Work, Best Value Rates, Monthly Housekeeping Audits
Health and Safety
- To take personal responsibility for ensuring the work practices and the environment meet the requirements of the Health and Safety at Work legislation and report all deficits to management.
- All employees have a responsible for the safeguarding of patients detained within Partnerships in Care. Employees have a duty to attend the training provided by Partnerships in Care in regard to Safeguarding Adults and Safeguarding Children. Employees must make themselves familiar with the types of abuse, the signs that abuse has taken place and the definition of a vulnerable adult. Employees will report all safeguarding incidents to their line manager and use the IR1 document to record all the required detailed information.
