Description :

 A global leader in food processing equipment has a requirement for a Site Co-ordinator. Working closely with management and engineering teams at the company’s site in Thorne South Yorkshire, the Site Co-ordinator role has three main functions:

1. To oversee and assist with controlling and administering all aspects of the company’s spare parts

2. To organise and manage all administration and logistics for visiting customers, and

3. Assisting those involved with training new recruits by ensuring all is scheduled, organised and prepared. The Site Co-ordinator will not be overseeing training, only assisting with preparation for it.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Ideally, the Site Co-ordinator will:

  • Be proactive
  • Be conscientious
  • Be able to think and plan ahead, identifying potential problems before they arise
  • Be able to cope with pressure and situations/issues that arise suddenly
  • Be an excellent communicator, both verbally and written
  • Possess an engineering qualification, preferably mechanical, or enough knowledge/experience to be familiar with machinery/components.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Spare parts administration

The Site Co-ordinator will supervise and assist where necessary those managing:

  • Control of consignment stock – ordering, receiving and stock check
  • Standard spare parts – ordering and receiving on behalf of customers
  • Liaising with Spares co-ordinators outside of the UK to be updated on and resolve spare parts issues.

Co-ordinating Visitors

  • Administer visitor request forms
  • Liaise with the visiting customers from inside and outside of the UK
  • Assist with visa applications to UK Embassies around the world for visiting customers
  • Organising logistics for customer visits in terms of:
    • Hotels
    • Airport transfers
    • Corporate meals
    • Ensure all health forms are completed and visitors are signed in correctly
    • Brief visitors on all site Health and Safety procedures during site induction
    • Escort visitors around the site in accordance with guidelines
    • Sign out all visitors when completed and ensure they are all off site at the end of the visit
    • Brief management teams after visits are completed.

Training

The company works closely with a local college to offer industry training to potential new recruits. Whilst the Site Co-ordinator won’t be involved with training or delivering curriculums, he/she will be required ensure training rooms are organised and all training facilities/needs are pre-planned and prepared.

HOURS

The company is prepared to be flexible in terms of hours worked. Whilst, generally, a five-day week comprising normal office hours is worked, should the Site Co-ordinator choose to arrive early and finish earlier than usual, then that would be considered acceptable, provided all work has been completed. There will also be requirements to work an occasional Saturday, depending on workloads and customer visits arranged.

SALARY

Salary is up to £28,000 per annum, dependent on experience.  Holiday entitlement and benefits will be discussed at interview stage.
