Priory Education and Children’s Services is a leading company in the UK offering independent behavioural care for commissioners across the UK. With over 100 high quality schools, colleges and homes we focus on making a real and lasting difference for everyone we support.

Part of the priory specialist education service, Highbury House children`s home is a registered home for up to 7 young people who have complex needs which may include autistic spectrum disorders ( ASD ) and complex associated difficulties. This home is open 52 weeks per year.  

You will be required to work 7 shifts on a transparent 3 week rolling rota basis:

Week One: Monday & Thursday

Week Two: Wednesday, Saturday & Sunday

Week Three: Tuesday & Friday

Thats right! You get five consecutive days off every three weeks (between week Two and Three)

As a Residential Support Worker, you will be responsible for providing day to day care for our Young People, supporting them in activities, education and statutory meetings relating to their time in residential care. Working as a team you will ensure the home is kept to a good standard in all aspects of house-keeping.

Experience of working in a Residential Childcare setting or working with young people with BESD is an advantage. We welcome applications from those with no experience but willing to train. All staff undertake relevent training leading to a nationally recognised Level 3 Qualification in Residential Childcare (QCF).

You need to have held a driving license for at least three years and have no more than six points.

Entry level salary (unqualified) is £17,376 = £14,496.00 basic plus an average £2,880.00 sleeping in allowance (£40.00 / approx 6 per month)

To start as soon as possible

•           3 week rolling shift pattern, 7 x 15hr shifts over 21 days

•           Average of 37.5 hrs/wk, including evening and weekend working (1 in 3 weekends)

•           Sleep-in allowance of £40.00 (approx 6 per month)

•           33 days annual leave, company pension scheme plus many other benefits

•           Comprehensive Training Package including scheduled ongoing face to face training and CPD planning

•           Funded Level 3 QCF Qualification included as part of role

•           Plenty of opportunities to maximise earnings
