Kneesworth House offers purpose built services with medium secure, low secure, and both locked and open rehabilitation opportunities.

The wide range of care settings maximises the opportunity for patients to have step down pathways and move easily between care settings to whatever level of security is most appropriate for their care. In addition to ward-based living and activity areas there is patient engagement opportunity in varied occupational therapy facilities. Patients here report high levels of satisfaction. Four residential houses afford a clear step down pathway for patients.

Our Secure Night Receptionist role involves:

  • To operate the hospital’s security (airlock system in accordance with Departmental Procedures).
  • Ensure all visitors adhere to the hospital security procedures
  • To be responsible for all operational keys ensuring all security logs are completed
  • To be responsible for ensuring all Agency and Bank staff follow and understand all security procedures before allocation of keys
  • To act as the main point of contact for fire alarms and medical emergencies in line with hospital procedures
  • To complete all night security audits and logs
  • To contact on call staff when required using the hospital’s pager system
  • To broadcast messages in a clear precise manner across the hospital site using the hospital radio system
  • Ensuring visiting customer referrers, patients, relatives, professional and general visitors are met in a courteous, efficient and professional manner
  • Receive and process incoming and outgoing calls quickly courteously and efficiently
  • To maintain the reception diary, communication and handover logs along with all other records and logs held on reception
  • Liaising with the hospital drivers as a point of contact for all transport needs
  • Recording and logging the hospital pool vehicles when leaving site, ensuring that all necessary paperwork has been completed by the pool car drivers
  • Booking and recording of all taxies used by the hospital
  • Ensuring all ward mobiles are fully charged and that all appropriate logs are completed
  • To be able to work a 12 hour shift throughout the night following the hospital shift pattern
  • To attend all departmental meetings, mandatory hospital and departmental training.
