Life Works is part of the Priory Group and is a private only 21 bedded non-acute short stay residential addiction, eating disorder and behavioural health hospital in Old Woking, Surrey.

All treatment is provided from a Grade II listed building and associated Cottage with a 2 acre walled garden.
The role:
We are looking for an experienced, reliable maintenance person to work alongside our head maintenance worker.
The role is:
- To oversee and deliver an efficient and effective maintenance service within Life Works and to assist in the well-being, comfort & safety of clients and staff.
- To ensure the maintenance of a well decorated, safe and comfortable environment throughout Life Works, in line with quality standards and ensures that work processes comply with statutory regulations.
- To assist in the good maintenance of all of the interior and exterior aspects of the facilities, normally including minor joinery and decorative repairs, lifting and carrying and assisting with the maintenance of the gardens, driveway and patios as required, and to help with general maintenance tasks as directed by the Assistant Manager or Head Maintenance Worker.
Person specification:
- Demonstrable experience of 3 years or more in contract/commercial maintenance
- Hard working, reliable and with an excellent attention to detail and high standards of presentation in their work.
- Cheerful, enthusiastic and flexible team player. Kindness will be second nature to you.
- You will behave in a transparent manner always showing respect to our residents, their families and your colleagues
- Skilled in all basic handyman tasks
- Willing to undertake any other general maintenance tasks as directed, relating to the interior or exterior of the building, to include gardening using the ride on mower (training to be given).
- Highly responsible, safety conscious and risk aware.
- Practically minded and able to complete a wide range of repairs.
- A relevant NVQ3 or equivalent qualification within one of the key electrical, mechanical or building trades.

- Strong Health and Safety understanding, including risk and COSHH assessments

- Proven skill of stock control of materials and sundry items

- Strong planning and workload management skills with the ability to manage short term and long term activities to agreed deadline
- Works without immediate supervision.
- Good general knowledge of building and mechanical services.
- Has access to car and current UK licence .
