The Company and the Role:
Our client is a global provider of integrated service solutions supporting Governments, Military, Humanitarian Organizations and private industry in their operations everywhere, every day.
They are currently seeking a Logistics Project Manager to be based in Dubai, UAE to manage the introduction and implementation of a food logistics contract for an Armed Forces end client. The position is Permanent.
The Project Manager will be responsible for the implementation and overall management of the Food Distribution Contract. This position will be the interface between the key personnel of the Armed Forces Client and the Management Agent (MA).
You will be accountable for contract compliance, performance and ensure a collaborative working relationship with the client and to continuously improve efficiency of the operations, which benefits the Armed Forces end user and our client. This position is reporting to the CEO and will be based in Dubai with frequent travels to UK.
Key Features of the Role:
You will set up sub project teams to manage supplies to the different standing and temporary exercises with clear responsibilities, including a Rapid Deployment Project team.
As the Project Manager, you will oversee the planning, implementation, and tracking of a specific short-term project which has a beginning, an end and specified deliverables.
You will execute the logistics solutions for all exercises as agreed in the handover process
You will be accountable for P&L and Budget Control through the life of the contract and accountable for Contract Non-Conformances and Performance.
You will develop Standing Operations Procedures, which conform to the contract and cover key parts such as Change Control Procedure, Surge Planning and develop an Internal/External Approval Matrix, which safeguards and controls compliance to the T&C`s under this contract.
You will maintain and update the Exercise Planner in conjunction with the End Client MA and update the Risk Management Plan, weekly red zone risk reports.
You will develop a qualified, motivated and engaged team in conjunction with HR Recruitment and ensure that all procedures under this contract are in line with Company Corporate Policies and procedures.
You will represent our client in Contractual Meetings including ad-hoc progress review meetings, quarterly board review meetings and annual strategic review meetings.
You will work closely with senior management and highlight any major issues affecting performance and budget and agree format of Management Information reports and ensure timely submission as per the contract.
Finally, you will ensure that personnel files are properly maintained and kept confidential and maintain and update the following plans as required in conjunction with the End Client /MA Stakeholder & Communication Plan, Security Plan, Quality Plan; Customer Satisfaction Plan, Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery Plan and Sustainable Procurement Plan.
Knowledge and Skills:
The successful candidate will be an accomplished third party logistics professional ideally having experience in managing third party food logistics contracts.
Ideally you will be experienced in large scale projects providing logistics solutions for military customers.
International logistics experience would be hugely advantageous.
Your work experience should ideally be supported by a qualification in either a logistics or operational doctrine.
You should be experienced in change management, and excellent inter-personal skills are essential as is an innovative and analytical approach.
Above all you must have the natural ability and courage to drive change, maintain morale and deliver results. A military background would be very useful.
You should have proven leadership, management and change management experience in a distribution business and held a compromable management position in another logistics organization.
Superb communication skills and instant credibility are essential as you will be inter-facing with a number of people from different backgrounds, nationalities and religions.
You will be resourceful with a flexible outlook, have the ability to multi-task in order to handle competing priorities and be able to fit in to an international dynamic and multi-cultural environment.
You will be IT / PC literate. Experience of SAP is advantageous. Finally, you should possess a Drivers Licence.
