Ty Catrin is a low secure mental illness and personality disorder service for men and women who require a medium-term placement and recovery-orientated specialist treatment in order to progress on their care pathway towards rehabilitation care.

The facility is split into six wards along with semi-independent flats onsite

Our Kitchen Assistant role involves:

  • Preparing, cooking and serving light hot & cold meals as and when required
  • Working under the direction of the Chef Manager
  • Taking all possible precautions to safeguard the welfare & safety of staff, patients & visitors

To be successful as a Kitchen Assistant, you’ll need:

  • Previous catering experience
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • An understanding of confidentiality and sharing information
  • A basic understanding of food hygiene
  • A non-judgmental attitude
  • An awareness of equal opportunity and diversity
  • A positive attitude toward mental health
  • The ability to work within an environment presenting with difficult and challenging situations
  • The ability to work within the hospital team
  • Willingness to work Occasional weekends and bank holidays
