Brunswick House is 5 bedded purpose designed service for men who may have had hospital stays including secure care and who require intensive behaviour support. This Community housing supports those with learning/intellectual disabilities, autism, mental health issues and complex behaviours.
The role:
As part of our nursing team you will assist and support the assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of patients in the unit and on community trips. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team under the direct supervision of a qualified nurse you will be required to undertake a range of duties involving direct patient contact and interaction.
As a Healthcare Worker you will be working within a team, which includes a range of professionals. You will make an effective contribution to providing high quality care within a medium secure forensic setting.
The patient group consists of personality disordered individuals and those experiencing enduring mental illnesses.
You will work within an identified career development pathway and be expected to complete appropriate competency development portfolios.
Key duties:
- Support of our clients promoting their independence.
- Care Planning
- Safeguarding
- Medication Management following appropriate training.
- Promotion of ADLs
Role requirements/Qualifications:
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work flexibily
- Basic Literacy skills
- Common sense approach to problem solving
- Basic numeracy skills
- Motivation and initiative
- Some appreciation of Mental Health problems
- Education to GCSE Standard
- NVQ or equivalent would be an advantage.
