Llanarth Court Hospital is a 114 bedded  forensic hospital providing a secure environment consisting of medium, low and open rehabilitation settings  for men and women with mental illness and or personality disorder.

The role:

The Deputy Hospital Director will assist the Hospital Director in overseeing the overall operational  management of Llanarth Court Hospital and lead  the Director of Clinical Services in ensuring high quality clinical care is provided.

The Hospital Director role involves:

  • Having the responsibility to lead a strategy for site development; including developing and implementing a robust marketing plan to deliver high performance.
  • Ensuring that all staff are fully integrated in to our organisation and supported through this period of change.
  • Having responsibility for delivering the highest levels of quality care to patients, ensuring that key hospital/unit business objectives are met.
  • Taking steps to ensure that regulatory compliance is maintained at the hospital/unit, ensuring that all appropriate staff are up-to-date with compliance requirements, and that there are robust procedures in place to demonstrate compliance across the whole hospital/unit.
  • Ensuring that commissioner standards are maintained taking all reasonable steps to ensure that no contract notices are placed upon the hospital/unit. As directed by the Regional Director, ensure that any action plans are implemented within specified timeframes.
  • Ensuring regular reviews are in place to help meet financial performance of the hospital/unit.

To be successful as Hospital Director, you`ll need:

  • Relevant clinical qualifications and experience commensurate with successful certification by the CQC as hospital Registered Manager (previous Registered Manager experience an advantage).
  • Relevant and successful operational management experience at a senior level involving leadership and development of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Commercially astute with proven ability to engage with internal & external stakeholders in order to grow the business and meet key operational targets and objectives.
  • Experience of managing systems of clinical and corporate governance to ensure service quality compliance and the safeguarding of patients and all relevant stakeholders.
  • In depth understanding of hospital management preferably within the MH/PD sector
  • To be fair, reasonable and clear in your dealings with all stakeholders, with the ability to lead and develop a multi-disciplinary team
  • Make decisions based upon firm evidence knowing when to seek guidance and/or approval
  • Current knowledge of regulation and issues as they apply to your hospital/unit
  • Ability to put in place what is needed with the available resources, to ensure the hospital/unit is always presented to the highest standards and that staff promote a positive care/outcomes driven approach, which is attractive to purchasers and enhances PiC`s reputation
  • Be constantly aware of new developments within MH hospital management and be willing to challenge the status quo
  • Experience of operating at a senior hospital manager level
