Nelson House is a modern and spacious 32 bed locked rehabilitation recovery service for men and women with mental illness. By having a focus on the development of skills for independence the unit provides a positive step for patients, many whose next step will be living in the community. It helps patients learn new ways of managing their conditions and symptoms with the aim of helping to prevent any future relapse. For patients with challenging behaviours, Nelson House helps them to learn skills to change their response to anxiety and distress. 

Key Duties:

To provide relevant financial information to the Hospital Director on an ongoing basis by:

  • Assisting in the monthly preparation of the financial statements, ensuring that they are presented to the HD on a timely basis.
  • Providing relevant and accurate financial information for the Heads of Service.
  • Preparing all the relevant statutory returns within prescribed time scales.
  • Assisting with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, half-yearly and year end returns to Corporate Office

Operational

To support the HR admin in the daily functioning of the Business Office by :

  • Maintaining the computerised financial systems.
  • Preparing and presenting detailed balance sheets and other reconciliation’s on a monthly basis.
  • Raising, processing and timely despatching accurate sales invoices and credit notes.
  • Review all correspondence with Purchasers, ensuring that Purchaser reporting needs are known to Nelson House Hospital’s clinical staff and handled promptly to ensure timely payment of invoices.
  • To take personal responsibility to ensure work practices and the environment meet the requirements of ‘Health and Safety’ at work legislations and report any deficits to management.     

Systems Technology:

  • Knowledge of Aspire system regarding purchase orders, capital expenditure requests, petty cash reconciliation, monthly payroll, overtime processing , maintaining rotas / recording sickness and annual leave via e-roster system.
  • Knowledge of E-roster system regarding maintaining rotas / recording sickness and annual leave.

Pay

  • Assisting with the incidental payroll correspondence, e.g. Advance notifications, P60’s etc.
