Set back within landscaped gardens, the tranquil environment of the Priory Hospital Roehampton offers calming and recovery focused residential treatment for up to 100 service users, as well as day care and outpatient services.

Specialising in the management and treatment of mental health problems including addictions and eating disorders, our multidisciplinary team deliver personalised treatment programmes and have established an excellent reputation for providing the highest standards of care.

The role:

With a full MDT in a fully refurbished unit we are seeking an excellent Mental Health Nurse with strong leadership, management and communication skills.  Candidates should have at least 2 years experience in a leadership role.  The successful candidate will work alongside the consultant psychiatrist in leading the ward to become a centre of excellence.  To co-ordinate the quality and management of nursing care, patient care and the clinical environment with 24 hour responsibility for staffing. Participate fully with the multidisciplinary team and undertake direct patient care. Manage and direct the delivery of clinical services within our adult ward, ensuring it complies with statutory regulations, current legislation and meets quality  standards.The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the nursing team possess the skills, knowledge and motivation to offer and deliver the highest quality of care to our service users. Reporting to and working with the Clinical Services Manager, you will assist with the development of our services ensuring wards are run effectively, and the delivery of our exceptional standards of performance that have become synonymous with Priory Group

Requirements

  • Be currently Registered with the Nursing Midwifery Council as a first level nurse, with at least 2 years’ experience in a supervisory capacity.
  • Appropriate registration required for the ward
  • Mental Health for mental health wards
  • Learning Disabilities for LD wards
  • Mental Health or General for ABI wards; with at least 2 years post-registration experience working on ABI wards
  • Willingness to complete further clinical, managerial and leadership training and development relevant to your area of practice in management and leadership.
  • Trained and current Mentor.
  • Computer literate.

Experience

  • Have been a registered nurse, working in clinical settings that are relevant to the post
  • Evidence of continuing professional development
  • Experience of clinical audit and/ or service improvement based on evidence desirable
  • Experience of working in an environment that requires the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Has been a supervisor of nursing staff

Leadership

The post-holder is responsibility for the leadership in a Ward area, in particular that of Nursing staff, but also contributes to the effective working of the Multi-Disciplinary team; The post-holder is also a member of the hospital leadership team

Budgets & Equipment activities material for patients use, all furnishings and fittings and the overall cleanliness and safety of the ward, bring any issues or concerns to the attention of the Director of Clinical Services promptly, and taking corrective .
