The Company and the Role:
The Company is an International Peacekeeping Force which operates in the Sinai. As part of its role it maintains two military camps one in the North close to the Mediterranean coast and one in the South at Sharm El Sheikh.
They are currently seeking a Facilities Maintenance Manager to be based at the South Camp located at Sharm El Sheikh in the Sinai. There will be frequent spells of work in the North Camp as required. The position is offered on a 2 year contract, renewable.
Key Features of the Role:
Reporting into the Facilities Engineering Officer, The Facilities Maintenance Manager will provide leadership, priorities and motivation to a multi-cultural work force and be the responsible party for facilities maintenance at the South Camp and the North Camp and the Northern sector of Zone C Company operations.
You will be part of a team that is responsible for planning, scheduling and monitoring the quality of work performed, in the execution of planned preventative and unscheduled maintenance, plus any corrective repairs of company infrastructure by the Operations and Maintenance Contractor.
As the Facilities Maintenance Manager, you will develop needed policies and procedures so as to have effective, responsive, safe and healthy standards of maintenance of company facilities.
These programs will include consideration of the condition of the facilities fixed asset base of the company and appropriate strategic management of the facilities.
You will serve as the Contract Manager`s Technical Representative (COTR) for all North Camp facilities maintenance related activities.
You will work with the Facilities Maintenance Planner (FMP) to develop and manage the facilities Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) program.
As the Facilities Maintenance Manage you will provide the lead in the management of corrective maintenance repair required at North Camp to include strategies for reviewing of tasks and timing.
Knowledge and Skills:
You will be an accomplished Facilities / Maintenance Manager and ideally you will have a college degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying or similar field.
You will have a UK National Examination Board Occupational Safety & Health (NEBOSH) or Institution of Occupational Safety & Health (IOSHA) certification or similar.
You will have extensive experience in general contracting or contract management, preferably in the Middle East as a Facilities Maintenance Manager.
You will have previous use of an ERP Facilities Maintenance Management Database, ideally with experience of the SAP Plant Maintenance module.
Experience of working in a military environment or for an international facilities management services provider and other similar organisations would be ideal. As would experience of working in remote sites or in other arduous environments.
Superb inter-personal skills and instant credibility are essential as you will be inter-facing with a number of people from different backgrounds, nationalities and religions.
Finally, you should be pc literate and possess a Drivers Licence
What`s on Offer?
Salary will be around £65,000 pa. The salary is tax free for an Ex-Patriate employee.
The basic salary is paid in US Dollars and is tax free for an Ex-Patriate employee.
Included in the basic salary is a 20% location allowance payable and also a 7% allowance in lieu of a pension scheme, both of which are tax free for an Ex-Patriate employee.
A 2 year unaccompanied status contract is offered which includes free accommodation, laundry, local transport, life assurance, health insurance and meals. In addition, employees have the use of a phone to call family and friends and the internet for e-mails etc.
The holiday entitlement is 28.5 days plus 12 public holidays.
Our client does not provide a specified number of free flights but awards a cash sum each year in US Dollars which the employee can spend as they wish to facilitate their R and R leave. Mobilisation and De-Mobilisation flights are paid for by our client.
