Partnerships in Care LDS provides quality, specialised treatment and inpatient care for adults with learning disabilities who can have associated conditions including personality disorders, mental illnesses and autistic spectrum disorders..

With four locations based on the Norfolk/Suffolk border we offer medium and low secure environments which are linked with community based step-down services including continuing care and rehabilitation.

The strength of Partnerships in Care LDS lies in the quality of the comprehensive assessment, treatment and care we provide. The emphasis is on a holistic and individualised approach delivered by a multidisciplinary team which includes psychiatry, psychology, nursing (mental health and learning disability), occupational therapy, specialist teaching, speech and language therapy, social work and a practice nurse for physical healthcare.

The role:

Our Advanced Practitoner Occupational Therapist role involves:

  • Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, providing occupational therapy assessments and interventions to individuals and groups. 
  • Our client group resides within medium, low and locked rehabilitation levels of security, within a forensic learning disability service. 
  • The successful candidate will  be based predominantly on one or two allocated wards within the service although will be required to support other wards and may be required to work across other areas of the service if the service requires it.
  • Working as part of a large team, you will be actively encouraged to develop new interventions that enhance patients’ skills development and social inclusion as well as to provide support and leadership to more junior members of staff.  You will also be part of supporting and developing our Recovery College.

To be successful as an Advanced Practitioner Occupational Therapist, you’ll need:

  • At least 18 months post graduate experience
  • A degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Experience of supervising junior staff
  • Strong ability to reflect on practice and use supervision effectively
  • Experience within mental health, learning disabilities, secure or forensic settings
  • A strong interest in working within the field of secure forensic learning disabilities
  • A full clean driving licence is preferable
