Description :

The Priory Highbank Centre offers specialist cognitive care and  rehabilitation for children and adults who have sustained a brain injury and is part of the Priory Group. Robinson house is a 10 bedded male unit which offers slow stream rehabilitation to service users who have severe and enduring mental illness, present with challenging behaviours and have complex needs.

We are looking for enthusiastic Healthcare Assistants preferably with prior experience of working with people with a mental illness.

Successful applicants must have excellent interpersonal skills, be highly motivated and caring in nature to work with the complex and diverse needs of our patients.

Applicants to have some awareness of the Mental Health Act and the Mental Capacity Act.

Applicants to hold a clean driving licence for a minimum of 3 years.

The role will involve:

  • providing a high standard of compassionate care to patients who require assistance with their activities of daily living, promoting independence, choice and quality of life
  • working with patients with highly complex needs that require skill, patience and commitment and will involve new learning due to the specialism 
  • working as part of an interdisciplinary team contributing positively to ensure the implementation of patient-centred care and rehabilitation plans
  • Compliance with all relevant and mandatory training to ensure best practice

The role will require individuals to work flexibly undertaking shift work including nights and weekends. The role will include regular night rotation; long days and some late shifts.

This is a highly specialised field and can present challenges, therefore a full induction programme and extensive in-service training will be provided.
