Vancouver House, a purpose-built rehabilitation service and care home with nursing across four units, supporting men and women with varying degrees of a learning disability or an acquired brain injury.
Working hours 33-44 per week.
Rehabilitation and neuro-rehabilitation are be designed for each person in our according to need and aspiration. Individualised activity programmes may include physiotherapy, neuro-psychology, speech and language therapy and occupational therapy.
Programmes are supervised and assessed by the occupational therapy department or other designated professionals.
Programmes incorporate all aspects of daily life, rehabilitation and including social and leisure pursuits, supported employment, lifelong learning and independent living skills. Leisure time is important to each resident’s quality of life and to maintain relationships with existing friends, family and carers as part of an on-going support network.
Residents participate in community activities in the nearby town centre and amenities and for those who are unable to do so there are also a wide range of on-site social activities.

As a support worker here at Vancouver House you will assist and support the assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of individuals who have a learning disability/mental health issues, both within the unit and on community trips. Under supervision from qualified nurses, you will participate in the risk assessment and care planning to provide holistic care to the residents within our service.
As a Support Worker you will be required to support residents with complex needs. Ensuring that our residents are well looked after and cared for. You will support residents with personal care needs, washing and dressing. Supporting our residents to access the community as part of a group or 1-1.
