The Priory Hospital Market Weighton is a registered male independent hospital, supporting individuals with learning disabilities, behaviours that challenge and mental health issues. Situated in the attractive town of Market Weighton the service is ideally located for safe, structured and gradual reintergration into the local community. The purpose built hospital is an open service with the ability to lock the doors to maintain service user safety. It can accommodation up to 18 individuals in four distinct areas providing a tiered care pathway to support them in their recovery and rehabilitation. All bedrooms have en suite facilities.

Personalised treatment programmes are offered alongside the use of a range of therapies. Our services are committed to a whole person approach. Service users are supported by our effective multidisciplinary team, experienced in rehabilitation, recovery and caring for those with complex needs.
We have an opportunity for an Occupational Therapy Assistant.
The role will be primarily focused around assisting in the effective delivery of Occupational therapy assessment and treatment to ensure service users engage as independently as possible in the activities (occupations) which enhance their health and well being.
The post holder will be expected to have excellent interpersonal skills when liaising with, external agencies and organisations, patients and relatives.
Candidates will be expected to demonstrate genuine commitment and enthusiasm for working with this client group. The ideal candidate also needs excellent organisational capability, effective communication skills, flexibility and a strong “can do” attitude.
Car driver would be a desirable attribute
Previous experience in working with people with a Learning Disability /Mental Health problems would be desirable
