Kneesworth House offers purpose built services with medium secure, low secure, and both locked and open rehabilitation opportunities.

The wide range of care settings maximises the opportunity for patients to have step down pathways and move easily between care settings to whatever level of security is most appropriate for their care. In addition to ward-based living and activity areas there is patient engagement opportunity in varied occupational therapy facilities. Patients here report high levels of satisfaction. Four residential houses afford a clear step down pathway for patients.

Our Secure Weekday Receptionist role involves:

  • Ensuring visiting customer, referrers, patients, relatives, professionals and general visitors are welcomed, looked after and passed on in a courteous, efficient and professional manner
  • To operate the hospital`s security (air lock system in adherence with Departmental Procedures)
  • To ensure all visitors adhere to the hospital security procedures.
  • To be responsible for all operational keys ensuring all security logs are completed in a timely manner
  • To be responsible for the allocation for all personnel alarms to all staff and visitors.
  • To be responsible for ensuring all Agency staff and Bank staff follow and understand all security procedures  before allocation of keys
  • To act as the main point of contact for fire alarms and medical emergencies in line with Hospital Procedures.
  • To be able to broadcast messages using radios in a clear precise manner.
  • To maintain and update the hospital radio and pager logs. Ensuring all paperwork is correct when sending radios and pagers for repair.
  • To complete monthly audits of radios, personal alarms and pagers.
  • To update monthly staff database and manage all weekly, monthly staff rota`s imputing all information in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for the hospital telephone directories` ensuring all telephone numbers are updated. Ensuring all staff telephone numbers are inputted and updated accordingly.
  • Receive and process incoming and outgoing calls quickly, courteously and efficiently.
  • To contact on-call staff when required using the hospital`s pager system.
  • To contact the on call driver ensuring all drop off and collection requests are met in a timely manner.                                                                                          
  • To maintain the Reception Diary, Communication and Handover Logs along with all other records and logs held on Reception.
  • To attend all departmental meetings, mandatory hospital and departmental. training
