The Priory Hospital Southampton is part of the Priory group offering outpatient, day care and inpatient treatment for a wide range of mental health difficulties. The hospital is located in Marchwood on the outskirts of Southampton and comprises 40 inpatient beds across three wards.
Sandpiper Ward: This is acute admissions unit comprising 17 beds.
Skylark Ward: 11 bedded specialist eating disorders Unit
Kingfisher Ward: 12 bedded CAMHS inpatient unit
The hospital has a combination of employed and visiting consultants and well established multidisciplinary teams in all wards including a combination of nursing, therapy, occupational therapy and psychology input. The non-consultant doctors in the hospital include two full time speciality doctors and one full time resident Medical Officer covering the inpatient work.
The hospital provides a combination of NHS funded and private care and has been rated as \"Good\" in recent CQC inspection.
This is 1 WTE substantive post equivalent to 10 PAs which has become available because of current post holder wanting to take a career break and is not returning to the post. This is a split post working across Sandpiper and Skylark ward with expectation of providing four sessions each to both units and two sessions for flexible work depending upon the clinical need in each ward. The post holder would provide sole input to the skylark and would share workload at Sandpiper with the RMO.
There are no on call commitments associated with this post.
A job plan would be discussed and agreed with the post holder on starting the role. Following is an example of provisional weekly time table though commitments on different days between two wards are subject to change depending upon needs of the service.
