The Priory Hospital Cheadle Royal is a specialist provider of complex mental health services, providing clinical excellence in our eating disorders, adolescent, rehabilitation and PICU services. Set within landscaped gardens, Cheadle Royal offers a comprehensive inpatient, specialist mental health service for young people and adults.  The service is dedicated to providing innovative, high quality care and treatment for service users with challenging and complex needs, in order to enable their recovery and re-engagement with the community.  The Hospital employs around 470 staff.

The role:

Key duties will include:

  • Receive, record, advise on and oversee actions relating to all safeguarding concerns raised by and about patients.
  • Build effective working relationships with patients and their families, in order to support their needs during admission and at discharge.
  • Attendance at ward rounds, CPA reviews and multi disciplinary meetings as required.
  • Provision of written input to CPA and other relevant reports.
  • Support all wards and units to ensure reporting to bodies such as the CQC and Local Authority is undertaken in line with legislation and policy.
  • Maintain strong links with the local authority and partner agencies.
  • Assist with child and adult safeguarding issues and take appropriate action with relevant statutory services.
  • Assist and support colleagues and relatives in understanding and interpreting legislation and statutory provision, particularly when these change.
  • -Where necessary, collaborate and act as main contact between relatives, agencies, and other official organisations, coordinating negotiations and communications regarding admissions, discharges and long term needs
  • Bring a holistic social work perspective to a varied MDT and promote social work values and anti oppressive practice.
  • Will possess a social work degree and hold HCPC registration and have a sound knowledge of the Mental Health Act , Children`s Act and Safeguarding.
  • Experience working as a qualified practitioner within a relevant mental health setting.

Benefits include Annual leave entitlement of 33 days (includes 8 bank/public holidays), with additional leave for long service, a contributory pension.
