The world’s largest manufacturer of high-technology cables and systems for energy and telecommunications is now looking for a Works Coordinator to join its HV Systems installation team. Reporting to the Technical Services Manager the Works Coordinator will be responsible for identifying those works for which a temporary works design is required for each project and supplying that design.
Where appropriate, the Works Coordinator will be supported by Temporary Works Supervisors, who may be Company employees, installation contractors or third parties, and who will be authorised by the Technical Services Manager.
This role would suit ex-military candidates and applications from ex-service personnel are strongly encouraged.
Key Responsibilities
Establishing and maintaining a temporary works design register for each project
Ensuring that a suitable design brief is prepared
Making sure that the temporary works are properly designed
See that appropriate design checks are performed
Ensure that the temporary works are installed in accordance with the design
Oversee the issue of permits to strike/unload
Key Qualifications and Experience
- Relevant experience at site or in a head office role of power cable installation or similar infrastructure projects including liaison with customers and sub-contractors.
- A degree or HND in Civil or Mechanical Engineering, or a related subject, would be advantageous
- Ability to prioritise workload to meet deadlines.
- External training in temporary works coordination, plus internal familiarisation, would be provided.
- A driving licence is essential and also the flexibility to sometimes stay away from home.
