Llanarth Court Hospital is a 114 bedded unit in Raglan, South Wales. It provides care to men and women with forensic and psychiatric histories in Medium, Low and Open Rehabilitation facilities. There are 8 wards on site, housing people encountering a range of mental health difficulties, including personality disorder, mental illness and LD. Care is provided by multi-disciplinary teams, made up of Nursing Staff, Psychiatrists, Occupational Therapists, Social Workers and Psychologists. The hospital is set in beautiful grounds and offers the use of a swimming pool, gym, on site cafe and education facilities.

Our Registered Clinical/Forensic Psychologist role involves:

  • Assessment and reporting of patients’ risk and treatment need
  • Provision of 1x1 interventions  to help address individual needs
  • Provision of group sessions to address generic needs
  • Contribution to MDT care planning and review
  • Contribution to the Care Programme Approach (CPA) process
  • Provision of Reflective Practice to staffing team
  • Engaging in Supervision – both providing and receiving
  • Training of hospital staff in psychological principles and techniques
  • Research
  • Contributing to professional development within the psychology team.
