HQ4732: Head of Supplier Relationship Manager

Salary: £65,000 to £95,000 / annum
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Supplier Relationship Manager to join an enthusiastic, expert procurement function that holds CIPS standard accreditation and you will play a key role in ensuring procurement excellence across the Group.
The procurement function is involved in some of the most complex commercial projects including Rail Franchising, High Speed Rail and major Roads investment.
Applications from ex-military personnel with suitably transferrable skills and experience are strongly encouraged.
The central team has been under review to consider the future service provision it provides to the central department, as well as the skills and resource required to deliver a challenging programme of activities. The review is now complete and we are in the process of implementing the changes to ensure we have the right people, with the right skills, in the right jobs.
Key responsibilities include:
1) Overall responsibility for providing SRM & SME advice to the Permanent Secretary and various governance Boards on procurement strategies, business cases, tender processes and contract management practices for all major projects across the Group, including ALBs.
2) Leading SRM approach for complex and high value procurements and contracts (multi-million pound, high risk/criticality).
3) Functional Lead of SRM & SME approach for the Group.
4) Developing & overseeing an approach to receiving Supplier feedback and utilising to improve performance.
5) Overseeing and leading SRM activity at each stage of the procurement process from SOBC to contract award.
6) Oversee and lead SRM & SME approach for contracts valued between £100k and multi-billion pound.
7) Lead the development of and maintenance of key relationships across the GOM including with Programme and Project Directors, Project Leads, Construction & Non Construction Industry Groups, HS2, HE, NR, Crossrail & TfL, HOP and the HOP Board, the Perm Sec and minsters as required.
8) Oversee the contracts and procurements pipeline to ensure appropriate procurements and contracts from across all tiers have been considered in terms of SRM & SME approach.
