Our client is currently recruiting for a Vehicle Technician or Mechanic based in and around Harpenden. Full training will be provided, although applicants should possess relevant skills and qualifications within an automotive engineering discipline.
As a qualified Technician / Mechanic you will diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults and carry out servicing of various vehicles from a range of well-known brands.
Applications from qualified ex-military personnel (REME, British Army, Royal Navy, Royal Air Force) are strongly encouraged.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and rectify electrical and mechanical faults.
- Ensure all vehicles are handled carefully and that all Health and Safety regulations are adhered to.
- Liaise with parts department to attain parts.
- Servicing and repair of various brands of motor vehicles.
- Use own initiative and be pro-active, putting quality of service first.
- Liaise with customers and as required ‘road test’ with them to identify faults.
- Liaise with service advisor to ensure all customer needs are met.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Should be qualified to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in an Automotive or related technical discipline.
- Training and support will be provided as well as continued development and an exciting career path at a flourishing automotive group.
- Required licence or certification: Full UK Driving Licence
Working Hours:
Monday to Friday: 8.30 – 17.30
1 in 3 Saturdays 8.30 – 12.30
Salary: £25,000 to £32,000 / annum + benefits
