The Company and the Role:
Our client is a leading independent foodservice wholesaler supplying multi temperature products to foodservice and retail convenience clients across most of the country.
The company has big plans for growth over the next 3-5 years and in line with their growth plans comes the need to recruit the best candidates and succession planning, therefore the path for progression is very real and carries numerous opportunities for candidates with the right aspirations, talent and capabilities.
They are currently seeking a Regional Sales Director to manage their sales operations out of 3 depots in the South-East region. The position is permanent.

Key Features of the Role:
As a Regional Sales Director, you will be responsible for:
Managing a team of 3 x Area Sales Managers across 3 depots located in the South East managing a total team of 55 Sales Representatives selling multi temperature food products into the retail convenience and foodservice end user marketplace
Responsible for the day to day management, performance and motivation of the Field Sales Team.
Ensure that the team are achieving all of their KPI`s and most importantly exceeding their targets.
Responsible for fully developing existing customer accounts within the area with particular attention being paid to Independent Business.
Working closely with the Managing Director to drive sales.
Full P&L responsibility for team budget of circa £12 million.
Hitting your individual objectives whilst equally contributing to the team`s goals and targets in terms of revenue and profitability.

Knowledge and Skills:
The ideal candidate will be both a proactive and credible sales professional. You will have experience of managing teams of Terrority Managers within the foodservice or retail convenience sectors.
The role is suited to someone who remain ‘sales hungry’ and who can exploit their team’s exceptional sales skills with effective and successful results.
Our client seeks someone who can show real leadership to the team going out on accompaniments and showing how it’s done. This is distinctly not a Director’s job sitting behind a desk!
Accordingly, you must have excellent inter-personal and leadership skills supported by excellent communication, relationship, planning and organisational skills.
This is an ideal role for someone who is now looking for more responsibility and more autonomy in your role and looking for their first “Director” titled role.
You will be a strong relationship builder.
You must be tenacious and willing to apply a strong work ethic to be successful.
You will incredibly focussed and determined and have the desire to work in a people-centric environment - you put in the hard work, for which you will get the support and rewards in return.
You must have a genuine passion for the industry and be a real “foodie”.

What’s on Offer?
On offer to the successful candidate is an attractive basic salary of between £55-57k depending upon your background and experience.
