Reporting to the IT Manager with the role of supporting and maintaining the company’s IT infrastructure and providing IT support to Company members and visitors.
Applications from suitably qualified ex-military personnel (Royal Air Force, Royal Navy, British Army) will be particularly relevant for this position.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Provide desk side support; configuring PC’s, laptops and tablets, installing, upgrading and replacing core hardware and software.
- Provide support for both colleagues and visitors with their IT enquiries and queries
- Liaising with external support organizations and vendors
- Managing their assigned support tickets within appropriate SLAs
- Monitor IT consumable stock levels and usage
- Asset and warranty management
- Data Centre maintenance
Assist the IT Manager:
- Administrate a Hyper-V virtual environment.
- Administrate a MS Exchange environment.
- Carry out IT projects (appropriate to skill and experience.)
Experience, Skills and Qualifications:
- Minimum one year IT support/administration but training will be provided and/or MS qualifications
- (70-341 - Core Solutions of Microsoft Exchange Server 2013 (or Exchange Server 2010 equivalent and 70-411 - Administering Windows Server 2012)
- GCSE Grade A*-C in English and Mathematics
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs focusing on Outlook, Word, Excel and Powerpoint
- Excellent interpersonal skills including written and verbal communication skills and the ability work with users of all levels
- Knowledge of MS Windows Active Directory domain, MS Exchange 2010 and MS Hyper-V 2012
- Understanding of network switching and routing, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, infrastructure cabling and patch panels.
- Flexibility to working hours, on occasion late or weekend work, sometimes from home
Desirable
- Knowledge of WatchGuard and Cyberoam firewalls
