A Ground Operative with experience of working in an aviation environment and working as part of a small team is required to join our innovative and specialist client. You will enjoy working outdoors and should be willing to undertake training and learn new skills. This role requires flexibility to work on a rota outside normal office hours and, on occasion, extended periods away from base, sometimes overseas.

The Ground Operative will, under the direction of the Pressure Watch Manager, be responsible for diverse activities consisting, but not exclusively, of:

Essentials:
Education/Training/Qualifications:
• Demonstrable literacy and numeracy
Skills/Abilities/Competencies:
• Good hand to eye co-ordination;
• A good team worker and, after training and qualification, able to take responsibility for the safety and security of aircraft and the operations and maintenance team around the aircraft;
• Possessing good communication skills;
• Able to learn quickly and with on the job training complete the tasks listed above;
• Able to integrate into the Operations team.
Personal Attributes:
• An energetic, positive attitude with a flexible approach is required;
• Self-motivated, with high levels of commitment;
• Willing to undertake outdoor work in varying weather conditions;
• Orderly in character, the candidate will be receptive, responsive, resourceful and reliable.
Other Requirements:
• Able to commute reliably to the company base of operations;
• Hold a valid passport and full UK driving licence.
Desirable:
• Previous experience in aviation and a small team environment, working outdoors.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Salary: circa £25,000 plus overtime (paid at normal rate of £10 per hour) and benefits (life assurance, pension, and 25 days’ annual leave). Pay will be reviewed an increased upon experience and performance.
Hours: 48 hours a week. Shifts are on a rota between other ground operatives. Sometimes will work 4 night shifts and have 2-3 days off and then 4 day shifts.
