A leading provider of specialist care for people with complex physical, mental and neurological needs requires a Registered Nurse for an exciting new role. You will be a vital part of a small team of nurses and a medical director ensuring that all service users’ health needs are assessed and managed holistically. This will involve a stimulating range of activities such as assessing service users’ needs; analysing, reviewing and monitoring case histories, personal plans and care packs; coordinating with GPs, care managers, therapists, service users and parents. There is no shift working involved in this role. There is an on-call element but this is phone-based and rarely requires travel outside normal hours.

Key Responsibilities:
- Coordination of professionals, staff and family to ensure each service user is managed effectively in all aspects of their health
- Provide advice and support to service users, families, staff, managers and professionals
- Support the service manager with the daily management of service users
- Regularly review service users` medical needs
- Write protocols/guidelines on managing service users` medical needs
- Manage alarm systems, staff monitoring and recording of service users
- Liaise with primary care teams, neurologists, hospitals and A&E
- Be part of a team providing an on-call service for medical emergencies
- Monitoring therapy programmes to ensure their effectiveness and regular review
- Developing and managing new medical projects
- Training professionals, staff and family members to understand service user’s medical needs
- Maintaining links with other specialist nurses and other health professionals
- Acting as an ambassador for excellence in medical services
Person Specification:
- Minimum Nursing Grade Level 6 or 7
- Experience in mental health, brain injuries, supporting rehabilitation would be useful
- You must be passionate about what you do

- You must be skilled in managing your own workload
- You must be able to work independently as well as part of a team
- To comply at all times with company policy and procedures
- To undertake any other duties appropriate to the grade as required
