The Company and the Role:
The Company is an International Peacekeeping Force which operates in the Sinai. As part of its role it maintains two military camps one in the North close to the Mediterranean coast and one in the South at Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt.
They are currently seeking a Network Infrastructure and Telephony Manager to be based at the South Camp located at Sharm El Sheikh in the Sinai, Egypt. There may be spells of work in the North Camp as required. The position is offered on a 2 year contract.
Key Features of the Role:
You will manage the Networks, Infrastructure and Telephony section. Supervise and train three staff and manage relationships with external consultant and service providers.
You will manage the network infrastructure which provides Information Services, Data Services, telephony, unified communications, and digital radio at two main Camps and thirty remote sites.
You will manage the infrastructure which includes all interconnections of end devices both wired and wireless (PC`s, telephones, and VTC suites). This will also include wide area networks as well as the management of leased network sites for public and site to site connectivity.
You will be competent in the analysis of Budgets and submission of annual Budgets.
Knowledge and Skills:
You will be an accomplished Network Infrastructure specialist with significant telephony experience.
Your practical career experience should ideally be supported by a Bachelor`s Degree in MIS, Telecommunications Management or similar related technical Degree.
You will have experience in networking technologies such as routers, switches, firewalls and other network security devices, appliances and wireless bridges and access points.
You should be familiar with Cisco, Juniper, D-link, and Motorola and hold Cisco Certified Network Professional Certification (CCNP).
Ideally experienced working in environments using public or hybrid cloud computing environments and a good understanding of legacy telephony, IP telephony technologies and Vendors .
Ideally you will have excellent knowledge of European, American and British standards and practice.
Strong written and oral communications skills in English are required. Some knowledge of Spanish or Arabic is desirable
You should be a confident communicator with the ability to supervise, motivate, coach and train a team of Egyptian nationals.
Experience of working in a military environment or for an international facilities management services provider and other similar organisations would be ideal, as would experience of working in remote sites or in other arduous environments.
Superb inter-personal skills and instant credibility are essential as you will be inter-facing with a number of people from different backgrounds, nationalities and religions.
Finally, you should be pc literate and possess a Drivers Licence.
What`s on Offer?
Salary will be around £62,500 pa. The basic salary is paid in US Dollars and is tax free for an Ex-Patriate employee. Included in the basic salary is a 20% location allowance payable and also a 7% allowance in lieu of a pension scheme, both of which are tax free for an Ex-Patriate employee.
A 2 year unaccompanied status contract is offered which includes free accommodation, laundry, local transport, life assurance, health insurance and meals. In addition, employees have the use of a phone to call family and friends and the internet for e-mails etc.
The holiday entitlement is 28.5 days plus 12 public holidays.
Our client does not provide a specified number of free flights but awards a cash sum each year in US Dollars which the employee can spend as they wish to facilitate their R and R leave. Mobilisation and De-Mobilisation flights are paid for by our client.
