Location:        Southampton, Hampshire

Job Type:       Permanent

Salary:            £32,400 plus Overtime and Benefits

 

The world’s largest manufacturer of high-technology cables and systems for energy and telecommunications is currently seeking an Electrical Maintenance Technician / Engineer to join its team.  The Electrical Maintenance Technician / Engineer will be time served with experience in all aspects of electrical maintenance engineering.  Self-motivated, The Electrical Maintenance Technician / Engineer must appreciate the demands of a 24/7 continuous production process with a keen to get the job finished attitude, along with good team working and communication skills.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnosing, fault finding and repair of Medium/Heavy industrial plant and machinery.
  • Completing preventative maintenance checks and inspections.
  • Developing and implementing modifications to improved reliability of plant and machinery.
  • Working as a team with manufacturing and maintenance colleagues.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Working to a continuous shift pattern with necessary overtime to cover holidays.
  • Adherence to Health & Safety with absolute priority.

 

Shift Pattern

The working hours are a 2 shift pattern Monday to Friday comprising of 8 hour rostered shifts totalling a 40 hour week. The early shift is 7:00am to 3:00pm and the late shift is 1:00pm to 9:00pm

 

Key Qualifications and Experience

  • Completed a recognised, certificated industrial apprenticeship in Electrical maintenance.
  • Significant experience in an industrial maintenance field.
  • Self-starter, proactive, prepared to take the initiative and work without direct supervision.
  • PLC, Instrumentation and Electronic drives.
  • Using software to interface or diagnose faults on plant and machinery.
  • Maintenance on large AC and DC motors.
  • Risk assessment and safety awareness.
  • Machine and Plant lock off procedures.
  • Machine and plant drawings.
  • Minimum of BTEC ONC in Electrical and Electronic Engineering or proven experience.
