The Mechanical Engineering team is comprised of specialist automotive engineers. With a combination of practical and analytical backgrounds, they apply their knowledge and expertise to the development of vehicles into rewarding products. The areas of development are focused on chassis related vehicle attributes, including noise vibration and harshness (NVH). vehicle dynamics, braking, performance and durability. In addition, our road loads date (RLD) and analysis specialists offer their own services as well as internal support to other areas of the function and to the whole organisation.
Experience
Essential experience for this role would include
Experience and knowledge of working with a wide range of vehicle types
Experience on working with HGVS
General vehicle service and repair including electrical diagnosis
Fabrication
Exposure to mentoring less experienced technicians
Worked on a customer facing environment
Desirable experience for this role would include
Ability to fabricate brackets and rigs to support testing
Knowledge of vehicle mechanical and electrical systems
Ability to operate in a customer facing role
Ability to work under own initiative
Proficient in the use of PC based software and systems
Desirable Skills for this role would include
Instrumentation knowledge and installation
Qualifications
Essential qualifications for this role would include
Full UK/EU driving license
Formal vocational qualification in vehicle engineering or related discipline (NVQ3 or C & G in an automotive field)
HGV licence
