HQ5168 Multi Skilled Maintenance Technician
Salary £30,000 per annum (Monday – Friday + weekend overtime)
Location Billingham, County Durham
An exciting opportunity has become available to work for a leading international manufacturer of high-precision alloy components which are designed to operate in the most demanding of conditions. The business has a worldwide presence and is a major supplier to the petrochemical market. You will support the engineering function in ensuring mainly the electrical infrastructure but also the mechanical assets are maintained and ensuring maximum plant availability and best practice.

Key Responsibilities:
- To ensure all both Electrical & Mechanical infrastructure is maintained at optimum levels
- Maintaining a safe Electrical & Mechanical infrastructure on site
- Advising on electrical & mechanical breakdowns and faults, as and when required
- Liaising with and production departments to resolve ongoing issues
- Involve with the continuous improvement activities across the site
- Using appropriate data and systems to interact with PLC/SCADA & Control Systems
- Liaise and engage with stakeholders at all levels
- Be actively involved in the sites Energy Management Strategy
- Carry out testing, inspection and rectification works
- To assemble, install, test, certify and maintain electrical /electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, fixtures and mechanical plant
- Inspect mainly electrical but also mechanical systems, equipment and components to identify hazards, defects and the need for adjustment/repair and to ensure compliance with codes
- Monitor, adjust and identify faults as required
Person Specification:
- To advise on and participate in best practice for all Electrical and Mechanical issues
- Work effectively with the Electrical and Mechanical fitters
- Enthusiastic
- Computer literate
- Ability to work as part of a team or unsupervised
- Willingness to be involved in Project and Continuous Improvement activities
- Experience of 11KV High Voltage preferable - not essential
Essential:
- City & Guilds Electrical Qualification; 17th Edition & 2391
- Apprenticeship served; Multi-Skilled or Electrical biased
- Knowledge of Induction Furnaces would be advantageous
- Knowledge of plant control
- Use of PLC and SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition)
