Description :

An Industrial Mechanic is required to join a globally acclaimed start-up company based in Munich, Germany, to help revolutionise personal transportation and e-mobility.

Reporting directly to the Workshop Manager, the Industrial Mechanic will work on a variety of projects and tasks, from running the workshops to 3D printing duties to working with different materials to fix problems up, including soldering of electric components.

Applications from ex-military personnel (Royal Air Force, Royal Navy, British Army, and Royal Marines) will be particularly relevant for this role and are strongly encouraged.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Read technical manuals to understand equipment and controls
  • Building and preparing the model aircraft for soft- and hardware tests
  • Assemble and disassemble various machinery and equipment
  • Repair or replace broken or malfunctioning components
  • Adjust and calibrate equipment and machinery
  • Perform tests to make sure that the machine is running smoothly
  • Work on any ad-hoc related tasks or projects provided by management
  • Work safely with a sense of urgency

Qualification and Experience:

Essential:

  • Completed training as an Aircraft Mechanic, Industrial Mechanic or in a similar profession with 2 years’ experience
  • Previous experience in using a voltmeter as well as with troubleshooting mechanical equipment
  • Target-oriented, driven workstyle with analytic problem solving skills required
  • High level of self-reliance with the ability to work in a team as well as autonomously
  • Creative approach and dedicated to crafting things, e.g. a hobby such as gliders or model making or own completed practical projects  
  • Must be fluent in English (written/oral)

Desirable:

  • Experience in a non-serial manufacturing setting
  • Experience in handling and processing composite materials such as Carbon Fibre Reinforced Polymer (CFRP) and Glass Fibre Reinforced Polymer (GFRP) parts
  • German language 

Hours of work: 40 hours per week on a shift pattern with flexible working time available (occasional weekends work may occur, therefore flexibility and dedication to the project is expected).

Overtime is required as part of the role and is up to five hours per week; however if the overtime exceeds the 5 hours, flexible compensation will be given as extra time off (for example on a less busy day).
