An opportunity has arisen for a Site Transport Manager to join one of the UK`s leading logistical services providers, delivering first-class logistics services to customers within the UK, Europe and International destinations.

Main purpose of the Role;

The Site Transport Manager will effectively manage the resources within the site at Buckingham. This will include, but not exclusively, effective communications daily ensuring a high level of team understanding and performance, planning which includes areas such as recruitment and driver rosters, working schedules, vehicle schedules, daily operational management, finance; invoicing, debt collection, the expenditure with the company authority levels and procedures. All activities are delivered in a culture of continual improvement delivering the most cost-efficient operations delivering key performing indicators (KPIs) to both customer contract and internal KPIs. You will maintain good customer, supervisors and drivers communications in respect of all operations provided.

Reporting to you will be a team consisting of supervisors, warehouse and driver teams dedicated to running your location and assisting you to achieve your objectives as the Site Transport Manager.

Key responsibilities;

  • Meet all agreed performance and business targets through the management of resources within your site.
  • Bring daily perspective and focus on objectives, encourage teams to formally commit to tasks and goals
  • To proactively monitor and evaluate actual performance against agreed KPIs setting action plans to continually improve performance.
  • Ensure that performance information is processed, recorded accurately and forwarded to the appropriate recipients within specified timescales.
  • Recruit, Lead, Coach and Motivate all team members (contracted or employed) to ensure performance standards are maximised.
  • Ensure all team members receive the appropriate reviews, training and guidance to carry out their role and tasks effectively
  • Maintain a high level of team morale within your site through the motivation and discipline of the team.
  • Plan and maintain resources at a sufficient level to meet customer demand and business needs through high-quality recruitment, focused retention and general driver and supervisor planning.
  • Aim to develop and maintain positive working relationships with customer, local authorities and other outside bodies and organisations to promote the Company and develop opportunities for business growth.
  • Complete appropriate documentation required by the Company or by outside authorities.
  • Actively promote the company`s Leadership Behaviours.
  • Respect the confidential nature of the information which may be made available to you for you to carry out your duties.
  • Share best practice across the organisation, attend and contribute to periodic district/UK meetings/reviews
  • Comply with corporate and company guidelines.
  • You should work to recruit, develop and mentor potential successors for your role or parts thereof. Developing succession options at every level is key to allowing the business to grow and to offer you a promotion and/or a change of role in the future
