An opportunity has arisen for a Logistics Supervisor to join one of the UK`s leading logistical services providers, delivering first class logistics services to customers within the UK, Europe and International destinations.

Main purpose of role:

The Logistic Supervisor will be responsible for developing, leading and engaging the logistics team, which includes professional drivers, self-employed drivers, and forklift & warehouse operatives.  You will work from the Service Centre in Buckingham supporting in the delivery of a range of solutions, including storage, parcel picking, repacking and the last delivery mile throughout the UK and overseas. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate a hunger for growing this centre of operations to develop a range of different solutions for the customer. You will be supported by the Management Team and given the freedom to develop and coordinate key operational processes required to deliver for the customer, giving you the opportunity to make a difference

Key responsibilities:

  • Accept delivery of the incoming goods daily and ensure accuracy, quality & compliance
  • Attend Operational meetings
  • Supervise the loading of the vehicles in the morning as per the routing sheets to ensure a timely departure for all drivers
  • Issuing driver keys, fuel cards & drivers packs as necessary - ensure 100% compliance to policy & procedures at all times
  • Ensure all drivers follow correct procedures and have everything they need to deliver for the day whilst staying in close communication with throughout the day to resolve any issues
  • Receive incoming calls to the depot and be the primary contact for any Palletforce Member Depot requiring assistance with outbound deliveries from the Service Centre
  • Effectively coordinate the Logistics Operations to maintain compliance and quality with incoming goods
  • Complete daily administration for quality & compliance and produce short reports to attend operational / handover meetings
  • Run E-reports and amend discrepancies
  • Complete daily scanning for all POD paperwork
  • Call customers to organise a suitable time for Book-In deliveries
  • Respond to all messages / alerts in the inbox in a timely fashion
  • Ensure that performance information is processed, recorded accurately and forwarded to the appropriate recipients within specified timescales
  • Lead, coach and motivate all team members to ensure performance standards are maximised
  • Ensure all team members receive the appropriate reviews, training and guidance to carry out their role and tasks effectively
  • Maintain a high level of team morale within your site through the motivation and discipline of the team
  • Aim to develop and maintain positive working relationships with customers, local authorities and other outside bodies and organisations to promote the Company and develop opportunities for business growth.
