The Company and the Role:
The company provides catering, life support, logistics support and site services in the Middle East across a mix of clients including Remote Sites, Construction, Accommodation Camps, Education, Healthcare, Mining and Energy sectors.
They are seeking a Procurement Manager to be based in Dammam, Saudi Arabia
The position is permanent on an open-ended contract.
Key Features of the Role:
You will control the planning and co-ordinate the work of the relevant departments within the provisioning, procurement, stock control and accounting departments for all food/non-food items required for the successful operation of the Company.
You will manage 70 staff and report directly to the General Manager and advise Area/Sites Management of product availabilities.
You will monitor product prices, quantities, usage and quality and control the purchasing budget delivering cost savings where possible.
You will be responsible for sourcing, selection and negotiation with suppliers to strive for the best commercial and delivery terms and negotiate price and delivery terms with them.
You will evaluate vendor’s quotations to ensure that they are in line with the technical and commercial specifications required.
You will manage the daily operational purchasing needs such as planning, issuing and following up on Purchase Orders delivery and shipment schedules and manage purchasing cycle including request for quotation,.PO creation, PO follow up, Goods receipt and supplier billing.
You will resolve supply, quality, service and invoicing issues with vendors and evaluate supplier performance based on quality standards, delivery time and best prices and ensure all the criteria are met according to the organizational requirements and expectation.
You will ensure that the Company’s suppliers have followed the company’s packing and labelling instructions after the purchase order is placed with the Supplier.
You will ensure that the official company procedures are followed and maintain constant checks on stock levels and turnover and ensure adequate stocks are held allowing for all possible contingencies.
Knowledge and Skills:
You will be an accomplished Purchasing professional ideally you will have gained experience in a similar position preferably in the Gulf region and be of graduate calibre with a Diploma in Logistics / Transport or Purchasing or related discipline.
You will ideally have experience of food buying.
Arabic language skills would be a benefit but in any event you must be able to read, write and speak English.
Superb inter-personal skills and instant credibility are essential as you will be inter-facing with a number of people from different backgrounds, nationalities and religions.
You will be resourceful with a flexible outlook, have the ability to multi-task in order to handle competing priorities and be able to fit in to an international dynamic and multi-cultural environment.
Finally, you should possess a Drivers Licence and be PC / IT literate particularly with MS office.
