This is a highly respected Independent Co-educational Boarding School located in South Cumbria. The School is a vibrant, demanding and supportive community which encourages pupils and staff to be involved in as broad a range of activities as possible. Art, Drama and Music are especially strong, and the School has a national reputation for Sport.
The School is now seeking to recruit a Catering Assistant to join their Catering Team. The position is permanent.
Working at this school is a lifestyle choice which is ideal for an experienced Catering Assistant who wants the stability of regular hours in a normal working day by escaping the uncertainty of life in a busy commercial kitchen.
Key Features of the Role:
Reporting directly to the Chef /Cook the duties of a Catering Assistant will be wide and varied and you will be required to work five out of seven days per week between the hours of 06:30am until 14:30pm and 17.00 to 19.00.
Your main responsibilities will be to prepare and present food and beverages for the customers.
You will adhere to any issued standard recipes for menu items.
You will maintain high standards of service in respect of food and beverages and promote good, customer relations in a professional manner with the highest level of customer contact.
You will assist in the clearing and cleaning of all service, preparation and eating areas, utensils and equipment and work within HACCP and HSE regulations at all times.
There will be out of school hours special functions that you will be required to work.
Knowledge and Skills:
You will be an accomplished Catering Assistant, competent and skilled to work in all areas of food preparation and service.
Ideally you will have had some formal training and a qualification in Catering.
You must have strong organisational skills and excellent communication skills both written and verbal and have a flexible approach to work and be motivated by a passion for quality and great service delivery.
What`s on Offer:
A salary of £7.83 plus a comprehensive benefits package.
Overtime payments £8.10 per hour for any hours before 06.30 and £9.10 per hour after 19.00.
Accommodation can be provided at a monthly cost of £180.
Utility bills and council tax to be paid by the employee.
